about Emma
Emma Taylor holds a Bachelor of Creative Industries (Dance), a Graduate Certificate in Creative Production and Arts Management, and a Master of Fine Arts (Dance) from the Queensland University of Technology.
She is qualified to teach Advanced Matwork, Reformer and Advanced Reformer through 'Studio Pilates International' and has taught well in excess of 1000 classes. Emma has worked extensively with people of all ages, from absolute beginners to elite athletes.
In addition to instructing privately, Emma teaches dance and Pilates throughout Queensland, at private studios, at schools, and as part of the Queensland Ballet's EdSquad. Emma has also worked as a dancer for companies and independent artists, and creates and produces her own work.
Emma's approach to teaching Pilates is attentive, focussed and rigorous, while maintaining a sense of enjoyment, exploration and curiosity. She believes that Pilates is the perfect way to build strength evenly throughout the body, lengthening and toning muscles. Pilates gives clients a chance to focus on aspects of their other activities and daily lives in a controlled, introspective environment. The benefits of Pilates are for everyone, and students are very much in control of the purpose and focus of their individual workouts.

INJURIES
Classes can be tailored to either strengthen or avoid injured areas while you receive medical attention, depending on the medical advice you have received. I am happy to design programmes in conjunction with, or with advice from, your health professional, to suit your body and your needs. I am not, however, able to diagnose or give medical advice.
WHAT TO WEAR AND BRING
Please wear comfortable exercise clothing. Keep in mind some exercises will have you bending and stretching your arms, torso and legs in various directions, and it is recommended that you consider this when selecting an outfit. Please also wear socks, and bring a towel and water bottle.
